Shopping in Manhattan
The following is a sampling of the many wonderful fabric and embellishment stores in Manhattan. You will find other enticing stores along the way — go in and explore! You may not always find bargains, but you are guaranteed a visual feast, and will find unusual, exotic and beautiful selections. Shops are included on this list because they were recommended by at least one quilter, and they were actively doing business in July 2006.
Operating hours for all of these establishment vary occasionally from their normal posted hours, so be sure to call ahead — especially if you are making a special trip. Their hours vary from season to season, and for religious and national holidays. They also sometimes vary at the whim of the owner. Enjoy your expedition!
