Programs

We've scheduled an exciting lineup of speakers to discuss a great variety of topics during the 2012–2013 season. We hope you will plan to join us!

Special Program Note … Funding for programs comes from a $10,000 grant by a generous admirer and supporter of Empire Quilters. We are very grateful to this anonymous donor.

In addition to monthly meetings and programs, we have other activities throughout the year. For a complete list of guild events and activities, see the Calendar Page.

Chunghie Lee will give her personal history of Korean Pieceing and Quilting or Bojagi.  She has just been in Korea organizing the Korea Bojagi Forum to expand the awareness of this centuries old form of joining pieces of fabric in ways not used in the West.  Even if you never practice this technique, you will be intrigued by the work. Bojagi, first sewn in the 15th century by nameless women

in small villages as gift wraps, now inspires many influential artists of the 21st century.  Bojagi has been introduced to the western world over the past 30 years, and anyone who as ever seen the exquisite stitching and gossamer fabrics used in Korean Bojagi will be sure to attend this meeting!  See you there!  Chunghie Lee
