Embroidery Stitches - Ligaya Siachongco **
** Award Winner - 3rd Place - Small Quilts ** I re-created these embroidery designs from the book "Encyclopedia of 101 Embroidery Stitches" by Jane Cannon Meyers. These stitches were classified as Surface stitchery. Almost all of the 101 stitches in the book were used in this quilt. The embroidery was done using cotton floss on a muslin fabric. This was hand quilted using polyester batting and cotton backing. The edge was a machine shirred batik fabric and a covered polyester cord. |
