On December 16, 1960, two airplanes collided in midair over Staten Island. The UA DC-8 jet continued on course 8.5 miles until it crashed on Seventh Avenue and Stirling Place in Park Slope. This quilt depicts the Brooklyn waterfront and numerous historic buildings in the Red Hook, South Brooklyn, and Downtown areas. Techniques include raw edge appliqué and hand quilting.
