The following is a list of upcoming Empire Quilters Guild activities. Information is added to this page as it becomes available. June 2008:

Saturday, June 14, 2008 — Trip to the New Jersey Quilt Convention

  • Destination: New Jersey Quilt Convention, Edison, New Jersey
  • Cost: $38.00 members; $43.00 guests. Price includes transportation to the show and estimated discounted group admission to the show.
  • Deposit: $15.00
  • Registration Deadline: Note the NEW deadline: May 21, 2008

  • Bus Boards: 8:45 am, at the Southeast corner of 31st Street and 8th Avenue, directly across from Penn Station.

  • The annual show of the New Jersey State Guild. Watch the New Jersey State Guild website for information as it becomes available: www.njquilts.org

Saturday & Sunday, June 28–29, 2008 — Overnight Bus Trip

  • There are still openings available on this trip.
  • Destination: Vermont Quilt Festival in Essex Junction, Vermont, and the Shelburne Museum in Shelburn, Vermont
  • Cost: $205.00 members; $225.00 guests. Price includes transportation (tolls & tip), double occupancy hotel room (NOTE: due to another large event, only 9 double bed rooms are available; the rest are queen at this rate), continental breakfast (Sunday), snacks on board the bus, admission to the Vermont Quilt Festival and the Shelburne Museum, with a guided tour.
  • Deposit: $65.00

  • Bus Boards: 6:45 am, at the Southeast corner of 31st Street and 8th Avenue, directly across from Penn Station.

  • This is our longest distance trip this year. The Vermont Quilt Festival is New England's oldest and largest quilt show. It offers a variety of vendors and quilts. Appraisers are available, and you can sit and quilt. The Shelburne Museum is simply unlike any other museum you've seen. Electra Webb, its founder, moved 20 of the 39 structures on the ground to Shelburne, including a paddle steamboat. They have an extensive quilt collection.

August 2008:

Saturday & Sunday, August 9–10, 2008 — Overnight Bus Trip

  • Destination: Keepsake Quilting in Center Harbor New Hampshire, and the Lowell Quilt Festival in Lowell, Massachusetts
  • Cost: $150.00 members; $165.00 guests. Price includes transportation (tolls & tip), double occupancy hotel room, continental breakfast (Sunday), snacks on board the bus, admission to the Lowell Quilt Festival and the New England Quilt Museum.

  • Last year's trip to Lowell was a warm up for this year's regular show in the Tsongas Arena. We will also return for a full day to Keepsake Quilting and have a chance to enjoy a little bit more of Lake Winnipesauke. The New England Quilt Museum exhibition will be Timeless Favorites from the Pilgrim/Roy Collection.
