Christmas Ornaments

6½ inch unfinished block (6" finished block)

Fabric colors:

• One 5" x 20" dark green fabric. I used a green with a star pattern.
• One 5" x 20" red fabric. I used a red with a star pattern.

Instructions:

• From the green fabric, cut 4 pieces using Template A.
• From the red fabric, cut 4 pieces using Template B.

• To sew these small pieces together, mark the curved center of both A and B. Pin the center together with the B section on top. Then pin each end together (use additional pins if you feel more comfortable sewing with more). Carefully sew by taking 3 or 4 stitches at a time and, with needle down, reposition fabric every so often so that the edges of the curves come together with a ¼" seam allowance.
• Each unit needs to be trimmed to a 3½ inch block. Do this by taking a square ruler and positioning the ruler with the 3¾ inch mark on the red fabric so that the 3¾ inch ruler lines are matched up with the two straight edges of the red fabric. Trim the top of the green fabric. Flip the block around and now position the ruler so that the 3½ inch lines are matched up with the green straight edges. Trim the red fabric. This should result in four 3½ inch blocks.
• After each block has been sized correctly, sew the blocks together with the green fabric on the inside as shown above.
