Field of Flowers

We had a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the April Block of the Month wall, which I hope was enjoyed by everyone. Our participants were: Carmen Caldiero (4), Carole Hoffman (1), Constance Ricks (1), Anne Townley (1), Marian Webber (1) and Veronique Milliez (2) who won the blocks.

What can be prettier than a beautiful Spring flower? And, what can be easier than piecing by numbers? You can make this flower by sewing four of the 4½-inch squares shown below. (Add a ¼-inch seam allowance all around each 4-inch square). Numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 and 8 are the petals of the flower. Numbers 2, 4, 6 and 9 are the background (sky blue in the photograph), and number 10 is the center. When sewing the 4 squares together make sure that the centers meet. The finished block will be 8½-inches.

While I made my flower yellow, I am sure that you will have more imagination and your flower will be unique. Remember, all the flowers in a field are not the same color.
